New Cyclops Blade & How To Stop Losing Lures

The Weekly Report Good Kokanee fishing continues! We fished Strawberry Reservoir a few times over the past 10 days and had great success on almost every outing. Pink and Purple have been the most consistent colors. We’ve also had good success with orange, silver and white recently. One customer reported that the Chartreuse Moon Jelly Cyclops Blade with our Ghost Micro Hoochie has been killing it for multiple trips in a row! We tested our new UV Moon Jelly Cyclops Blade that immediately impressed us by catching the biggest salmon of the trip, a 21” monster!   UV Moon Jelly Glow…

Kokanee Fishing Has Been HOT!!

The Weekly Report This is the best time of the year if you’re a Kokanee fisherman!  The fish are active, aggressive and fun to catch.  We had another great trip to Strawberry Reservoir and had many great reports this week from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Fish Lake and Flaming Gorge.  We have been fortunate enough to catch several fish over 20” in the past couple of trips.   Don’t Be Afraid of Change! One pattern I’ve noticed this year more than past years, is that the preferred colors and presentation continues to change, hour by hour.  The hot color to start…

Gold Diamond Cyclops Blades And Spinner Squids!

The Weekly Report We received several reports from our out of state customers and friends this past week.  Fishing at Lake Merwin and Anderson Ranch have remained very good. Cyclops and Barracuda Blades continue to attract limits of Kokanee at these two lakes.   We fished Strawberry Reservoir this past weekend and did very well.  It was no surprise that the Red Gold Mighty Minnow / Green Moon Jelly Cyclops combo started off hot, again.  Later that morning Pink was the color!  The Spectre Micro Hoochie and Pink Lady Spinner Squids each caught multiple fish with the Pink Grapefruit Spinner…

Kokanee Corn Recipe And Father’s Day Gifts!

The Weekly Report Local fishing at Strawberry Reservoir has been up and down, but it should continue to get more consistent very soon.  Our best color, by far, has been GOLD.  Most of our salmon at Strawberry have been caught on the Red Gold Mighty Minnow.  The Niner Spinner Squid has been our second best lure.  The Orange Glow Crush Barracuda Blade and Green Moon Jelly Glow Cyclops have been our most consistent blades so far.   The Wonderbread combo of the Mighty Minnow and Barracuda blade have been VERY HOT at Anderson Ranch Reservoir in Idaho this past week!…

Flaming Gorge Kokanee

The Weekly Report Our trip to Flaming Gorge Reservoir was fantastic!  We fished two days and found lots of healthy salmon and some lake trout pups.  It was exciting to see a good number of Kokanee after the rough year last season.  Gold (Niner Spinner Squid and Red Gold Mighty Minnow) was the hot color to start the first morning and then shifted to pink and purple late morning.  All of the setups shown in the picture were working well with the Purple and Gold Mighty Minnow doing the majority of the work.  The Purple Cyclops, Purple/Moon Jelly Cyclops and…

New Moon Jelly Series And Hot Reports!

The Weekly Report Kokanee fishing has been heating up everywhere.  Gold has been our best color this spring at Strawberry Reservoir.  The Red Gold, Green Gold and Purple and Gold Mighty Minnows have all been great!  Several customers have reported LOTS of success with the Cotton Candy Mighty Minnow and Cotton Candy Micro Hoochies.  We have released a new Cotton Candy Spinner that we tested out last weekend, that worked great as well.  The first fish was caught on it before I could finish setting my line with the downrigger!   Speaking of spinners, we have released our new Moon…

Hot Kokanee Setups Of The Week!

The Weekly Report We made our first trip to Strawberry Reservoir and spent the trip testing some of our new products.  We spoke to many anglers and the fishing this day was a little slower, as is expected during the early season.  We still managed to catch lots of rainbows, some over 17”, and landed three Kokanee, all over 16”.  I was very impressed with the action of the new Barracuda Blades and it seemed the Kokanee and rainbows agreed.   The Orange Glow Crush Barracuda Blade with the Mighty Minnow Red Gold was the hottest setup of the day.…

New Barracuda Blades…You DON’T Want To Miss These!

The Weekly Report The weather and the Kokanee fishing are both warming up!  Hugh and Alisha, from our Nebo pro staff, made a trip to Flaming Gorge and caught some very nice-sized Kokanee.  The Purple Cyclops Blade and Passion Fruit Micro Hoochie did the majority of the damage.  We received a couple of great reports from the West Coast.  One customer fished Shaver Lake in Northern California and reported a quick limit using our new Wonderbread Glow Spinner and the Orange Zebra Super Minnow.  The new Wonderbread Glow Spinners were just added to the website today, by the way! Another…

Rainbow Fishing And More Wonderbread!

The Weekly Report One of my favorite things to do this time of year is fish for big, spring rainbows!  I love Deer Creek Reservoir in Utah, where the fish are typically very aggressive and hungry.  We troll with the same tackle that we use to fish for Kokanee.  Orange and Chartreuse are two of the most consistent colors and the Mighty Minnows, Super Minnows and our Trolling Spinners seem to all work very well!  When fishing for rainbows, we usually use piece of night crawler to tip the hooks. These early season Deer Creek rainbows are some of the…
